Read Matthew 7:1-5
Verses
1-2 of this reading forbid pronouncing another person guilty
before God. Undue rigidity, harshness,
and a judgmental attitude toward others will result in being treated much the same
way by God. Yikes!! That is something that will forever be stuck
in my mind now.
While Jesus was teaching the people
about this issue of JUDGEMENT, He purposely used intentional overstatements to
make His point clear. What an awesome
teacher! Can you picture someone with a
2x4 bulging from their eye walking over to someone to point out the splinter in
theirs? Crazy, huh?
Jesus does not
forbid all evaluation or even judgment of others though. When someone ultimately feels hurt or humbled
over their own sin, it is this kind of heart that can help remove the “speck”
from another person’s life. But, be
watchful!! If you have any thoughts of
having it all together or being better than others… walk away and pull the reins
on your tongue! It is not for you to do!
Read Galatians 6:1 and
write it in your journal.

Put it on display:) Or EVEN BETTER, if you can get a picture of it coming from your eye, send it to me and I will post it!! Whoever does this gets ice cream when we come back from Arlington!!
