Several girls in our 180 group have discovered the importance of spending time alone with God and becoming doers of what He teaches them. They want to offer an opportunity to any girl that wants to join in, to log onto this site each day and learn with them.

Ever wondered what to read in the Bible? Or better yet, what something in the Bible means?
Well join us each day, right here, and we will walk through God's Word together:)

Day #22

Read James 2:1-7

There is no place for prejudice or partiality in our life as an obedient follower of Jesus.

Prejudice= Preconceived opinion NOT based on reason or experience.
Partiality= a particular liking for someone or something over another; favoritism

This scripture is very clear on how God feels about people in the church honoring those with money over those without.  But, let’s take this a little farther than money, shall we?  If we are honest with ourselves there are many ways that we draw distinctions among ourselves as believers… rich/poor
smart/challenged
popular/nobody
athlete/band
outgoing/introverts
aggressive/shy
successful/failure
younger/older
broken home/mom and dad still married
married/single
with kids/without kids

… and the list goes on and on.  THERE IS NO PLACE FOR THIS BEHAVIOR!!  Yet, it is EVERYWHERE in the church.  The church will forever be a place for believers and seekers to gather to learn and worship the Living God, but God will never be okay with our prejudice and partiality.

Read and write what the following scripture says in your own words, in your journal.

Matthew 7:1-5

Tomorrow we will continue this study with the verse you just wrote about.
